One Word, Cakey| MAC Pro Longwear Foundation Revie
Hello, lovelies! I don't think I have given a bad review on a product, at least not yet on my blog. Well, that is about to change. If you follow me on my Instagram, rosesandbeauty, you probably saw it on my stories. I don't have one thing I like about the MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation. That breaks my heart because it MAC and I spent $36 on it! I'm just going to get straight to the point on this review.
Product info: This is a long-lasting waterproof formula that can act as a foundation or concealer. The product can last up to 36 hours, even rain or tears cannot budget this as it's supposed to be waterproof. MAC also advertised that the formula "blends seamlessly on the skin with medium to full weightless coverage and a natural satin finish." Sounds impressive and perfect for the summer right? Well, that was my first impression when the sale associate told me about the product! I will go on with my thoughts in a bit.
Packaging: I love this packaging! It'es easy to use and looks nice on photos. I like the black with a little bit of the foundation color showing through the packaging.
I wish I love the formula as much as I love the packaging. I do have to disagree with the statement "- medium to full weightless coverage and natural stain finish." The foundation is not weightless and since it is drying and cakey on I can feel the foundation on my skin. Even my friend who had used this before I agreed. I so wanted to love this product, I mean it's MAC! But, I could not.. While using this I was missing my old foundation, Estee Lauder double wear. I've been using that for years, and I'm not sure why I wanted to switch to MAC. I probably thought I could find something better.
Anyway, I tried working with the prolong wear foundation, from mixing it with oil, using a brush, using a beauty sponge, and with all the primers I have. Nothing worked! Unfortunately, the formula is so cakey that it emphasizes all the dry and bad spots. With or without setting powder it appeared to look "cracks" the surface of the skin. On days when my skin was acting up, it looked terrible. I'm sure my skin looked worst with it on, and that's not the point of a foundation. Every time I get home I just wanted to remove my makeup because I hate how it looks and feel on my face. Overall, I have used better drugstore foundations. I do not recommend this product; spend your $36 on something else.
Pros: Waterproof and long-lasting
Cons: Cakey, pricey, and not "weightless."
